Almost everyone wishes they had a better prayer life, but few know how to improve it. Pastor Beth Jones can help. In her new series, Living on a Prayer, Pastor Beth explains not only how to pray, but when to pray and what to pray.
In this forum, let's discuss the ways that Living on a Prayer, has impacted your life or encouraged you in your spiritual journey.
Over the weekend, Mark and I built this SWEET dual office/prayer closet / Epic Study room. I always wanted a better place to get alone with God! This morning I set my alarm for an extra 15 minutes early....planning to go down to the Secret Place to be with God for 15/20 minutes. I woke up an hour before that though, and the Lord told me to come on down! I got out God's Word...and turned to Mathew 6:6....the page in my Bible where I had written all the notes from Week 2 of Living on a Prayer. What a perfect start to the first prayer time in the new "secret place"! I'm glad God woke me up early....because I prayed out the 6 Phases as Pastor Beth taught on the weekend and I had a GREAT day.....went to work knowing my family would shine in the wisdom and revelation of Him! If you haven't put the message into action yet, don't wait another day!
I was out of town for the 2nd week, and haven't had the chance to listen on-line yet. But Week 3 was terrific. The example of Lisa having authority to pray for her patient, impressed on me the need to spend some time remembering who all I have authority to pray for. Certainly He has given us authority over all the power of the enemy. But, I was on a different vein. The obvious was my family. Those that we oversee, at work and elsewhere. But what about those I might be under in the world? Then the Spirit brought to mind that we are to pray for those in authority over us, too (1 Tim 2).
Another thing that I was impressed with was the charge to pray for my future generations to find and fulfill the Lord's purpose for them.
Thank you God for the incredible teaching offered through Pastor Beth throughout this series. I learned many new things and have applied them all along. My walks with you and talks with you have been more confident and more efficient than ever before. You are answering my prayers so quickly now, and in many cases it seems as I ask you are putting your answers right into my own mouth. You are the highest and mightiest of all, gracious and loving God. I pray that you multiply our relationship beyond my wildest dreams so that I know with precision what you are calling me to do for your glory. In Jesus' name, amen!
